Primiero

Le verdi vallate di Primiero e Vanoi costituiscono il lembo più orientale del Trentino al confine con la provincia veneta di Belluno. Il principale accesso alla Valle è costituito dalla gola dello Schenèr, che mette in comunicazione la Valle con la zona del Feltrino. Il Passo Rolle permette il collegamento con la Val di Fiemme, il Passo Cereda con l'Agordino, mentre il Passo Brocon collega la vicina Valle del Vanoi con la conca del Tesino e la Valsugana.

Il paesaggio è decisamente montano, caratterizzato dalle Dolomiti, vette famose in tutto il mondo per le forme spettacolari ed il fascino in ogni stagione dell'anno.

Una valle soleggiata con sei caratteristici centri storici ed affascinanti dintorni; ampia vallata ai piedi delle Pale di San Martino che ospita sei piccoli ma vivaci paesi: Fiera, Siror, Tonadico, Transacqua, Mezzano ed Imèr.

La valle è attorniata da tre gruppi montuosi: a nord le Pale di San Martino, ad ovest il Lagorai e a sud le Vette Feltrine, che chiudono la conca. Le Pale di San Martino presentano al loro interno, racchiuso fra le vette, un ampio altipiano (circa 50 km²) di dolomia e raggiungono i tremila metri d'altezza con la Vezzana (3193 m s.l.m.) e il Cimon della Pala (3183 m). Il gruppo del Lagorai-Cima d'Asta, al confine con la Val di Fiemme e la Valsugana, è costituito da rocce magmatiche (in prevalenza porfidi). Le vette principali sono la Cima d'Asta (2847 m) e il Monte Cauriol (2495 m).

Val Canali

Not far away from Fiera di Primiero it is considered, because of its magnificent views, one of the outstanding valleys in the Dolomites area.
At the entrance to the valley you can see the ruins of Castel (Castle) Pietra.
The Welperg family lived in the castle till a fire destroyed it the 16th century.
It controlled the road to Passo Cereda (Cereda Pass). A bit further onat the center of an ample meadow you can see Villa Welsperg built in the 19th century and recently restructured (to house the seat of the Parco Naturale di Paneveggio-San Martino). In summer it houses interesting exhibitions and shows concerning nature and the historical traditions of Primiero.

Valle del Vanoi

Another green and wild valley. It is also a quiet and relaxing place. Connected with Primiero through a long tunnel. There is also a panoramic road-link through the Gobbera Pass. The wide valley keeps in itself the truest mountain life style together with plenty of forests and small mountain villages among colourful forested meadows.

San Martino di Castrozza

It is mainly a winter resort and a very characteristic village high up in the mountains with the peaks of the group of the Pale of San Martino “hanging” over the village.The thick woods and the large areas of pastures make it a place in a real mountain environment.

Passo Rolle

A mountain pass placed among ample pasture area it enjoys a peerless panorama at the foot of Cimon della Pala peak which is part of the magnificent group of the Pale of San Martino, a famous mountain range forming a sort of amphitheatre. It is the south eastern door to the widely known Dolomites.
There is not a real village up there but only a very few hotels, restaurants and shops.

Parco naturale Paneveggio–Pale di San Martino

Three colours dominate the Natural Park: the silver of the Dolomites of the Pale of San Martino, the deep green of the forest of Paneveggio and the dark grey of the phorphyritic rock of the Lagorai range.
